Sen. Sessions Comments on Funding for Red Mountain Park
Tuesday, November 13, 2007
WASHINGTON -- U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) made the following comments today regarding $1 million in funding included in the THUD appropriations bill for Red Mountain Park in Birmingham:
“I am pleased that $1 million is included in the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations bill for the further development of Red Mountain Park in Birmingham.
“The campaign to establish the park is a fantastic example of what can happen when a community comes together to support a common goal. Red Mountain Park has broad support throughout the Birmingham area and people are excited about its potential to improve the quality of life and encourage economic growth in the city.
“The Red Mountain Park project can fundamentally change the landscape of Birmingham in a way that makes the city even more attractive to people who want to live, work, and raise a family there. I think the Park will soon be recognized as a real gem in the Steel City, and I am proud to do what I can to support those that are working to better their community.”
